Immanuel Lutheran School

Located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Immanuel Lutheran School is a private Christian elementary school accredited with the National Lutheran School Accreditation that believes in building faith in Christ one child at a time. We educate Pre-Kindergarten (3 year olds), Junior Kindergarten (4 year olds), Kindergarten, and Grades 1-8 students. Children of all faiths are welcome to attend Immanuel Lutheran School.

We believe that teaching must be aimed at the whole child - spiritual, cognitive, creative, physical, emotional and social. Through Christian education, our students reflect God's love through service to God, family and community. The purpose of Immanuel Lutheran School is to build faith in Christ one child at a time.

Open House and Fine Arts Evening - May 8
We would like to invite your family to attend our Open House
on May 8, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Our Pre-Kindergarten three-year old program through grade eight will be featured, so please come by and tour our school and meet our teachers. From 7:00 to 7:30 pm Immanuel will be featuring the performing talents of our students with our “Fine Arts Evening”.
We are all about incentives here at Immanuel, so here’s another offer. Bring a new
family to Immanuel’s Open House (a family that is sincerely interested) and if they
register their children for school, both of you will receive a $50.00 credit towards
registration.

Goodsearch.com
Here is a great way to make contributions to Immanuel Lutheran School.  While searching the web, use Goodsearch.com for your search engine.  Goodsearch.com donates one cent to a designated non-profit for each search made from their site.  Simply go to www.goodsearch.com and designate Immanuel Lutheran School as your charity, and continue to do your online searching.  It is powered by Yahoo!  Your can make goodsearch.com your home page, too.  The more people who use it, the more those pennies will add up!

Principal Heidi's Greeting
Don’t forget our Open House followed by the Fine Arts performances on May 8.  Bring in an interested family and you could be eligible for a discount! I am looking forward to visiting with families and seeing what new families we can all bring in.  We have so many blessings here at Immanuel Lutheran School, Childcare and Church to be thankful for.  We have a lot of fun when we fellowship together and work for the glory of God.

The month of May brings teacher appreciation week (May 4-10).  Let’s appreciate our Immanuel Lutheran School teachers by telling them how much you care.  Look for ideas in this newsletter regarding some helpful ideas to make this day special for your child’s teachers.

As this school year is already into the fourth quarter, I would like to say to all of the wonderful parents and grandparents who support our ministry here at Immanuel…Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Mrs. Heidi Wallner

Sheboygan Area Lutheran School Association

Immanuel Lutheran School belongs to the Sheboygan Area Lutheran School Association (SALSA). The group is comprised of the six Missouri Synod Lutheran Schools in the Sheboygan area.  We participates in joint concerts, athletics, celebrations, Scholastic Olympics, and Seventh Grade Camp.  Other schools in SALSA are Bethlehem (Sheboygan), St. Paul (Sheboygan), Trinity and Lutheran High (Sheboygan), St. John (Plymouth), and St. John Sherman Center (Random Lake).

Scholarship Assistance

Scholarship Funds have been established to help worthy students who, with their parents, are dedicated to Christian education, but unable to meet all of the tuition needs.  Requests for assistance from this fund are to be made through a form available in the school office.

School Closings/Snow Days

In hazardous weather conditions, Immanuel Lutheran School usually follows the dictates of the Sheboygan Public School System.  There are times however, we will close and the public schools will not.  Parents should always use their discretion of whether to send their children to school.  Weather conditions can be different in various areas of the county.  Please listen to WHBL 1330 AM radio or channels 2, 4, 6 or 12 television stations for school closing announcements. In the event of inclement weather or another emergency necessitating the closing of school during the school day, a phone call will be made to each family.

School Hours

For the safety and protection of our students, school doors will be remain locked while school is in session. The bell will ring for doors to open at 8:10am.

What is SCRIP?

Scrip is a program which allows you to buy gift certificates to many different stores.  The businesses return a certain percent of the purchase price back to our school, so without spending one extra cent you can help earn extra dollars for our school!  In addition, Immanuel now lets you choose a recipient for half of the profit.  So you and your relatives/friends can provide a school credit or childcare credit at Immanuel for yourselves or another school family.  You may also choose to have the money put into the scholarship fund (which helps less fortunate families) or our PTL (which benefits our school, teachers, and families in countless ways!).

How does it work?  The store gift card/certificate is equivalent to cash.  When you make a purchase at that particular store you may simply hand the card/certificate to the store clerk.  If the purchase amount is less than the amount on your gift card they will generally return the card/certificate to you with the new balance which you can spend at a later date.  Occasionally, they will give you cash/change back.  Gift cards may expire 1 year after activation, so please use your gift card within 6 months to be on the safe side.  Some retailers allow you to pay-off accounts with the gift cards (please check with retailer as this varies).

How can I buy scrip?  The scrip available for immediate purchase is listed on the Purchase Form. However, supplies are limited and occasionally we may “sell out”.  There is also a wide variety of scrip available by order.  You may obtain a complete list at the school office.  Orders are generally placed Friday afternoons and typically arrive by the following Thursday.  Scrip may be purchased/ordered after all church services by the handicap entrance as well as in the school office.

The Sheboygan Press also participates in scrip.  Just give us your bill with a check made out to Immanuel PTL and we’ll do the rest!

Don’t forget the other easy ways to support our school:

  • Register your Pick’n Save savers club card with Immanuel Lutheran School and we get 1% back!
  • Save McDonald’s receipts.

  • Save participating box tops, milk caps, soup labels, and Tyson chicken labels.
