Extra CurricularImmanuel Lutheran School offers many extra curricular activities for our students. We have outlined the activities below. Please contact us if you have any questions about registering your child. AthleticsImmanuel Lutheran School holds membership in the Sheboygan Area Lutheran School Athletic Association. Students in grades five through eight are invited to participate in Christian competition with the five other Lutheran schools in our area. If there are a small number of participants, for a particular sport, they may join the team of another SALSA school. Athletic games encourage students to stay physically fit, and to develop courage, loyalty, cooperation, and self-discipline. Christian sportsmanship is expected from all of our players, parents, and fans. Athletic events may include:
Athletics EligibilityIf a student’s academic performance falls below a “D” in any subject area, a conference between the parent(s) and the classroom teacher will be scheduled to determine continued eligibility. The student will be excluded from practice until grades improve. If an agreement cannot be reached, the Principal will make the final determination. An “F” in one or more subjects will automatically exclude a student from extra curricular activities. The student’s grades will be reviewed on a weekly basis until improvement is indicated. The student will be expected to stay after school during the period of poor academic performance. Poor classroom attitude and conduct may result in keeping a student from practice and game participation. ChoirStudents from 3K to grade eight are members of the Immanuel’s School Choir. The Choir is divided into four groups (3K, 4K-K, 1-4, and 5-8). Choir practice is held once a week under the direction of the classroom teacher or representative. During various times of the year and also for special occasions, students will be asked to sing during Church Services. Grades 5-8 will also participate in the SALSA Music Festival (if a representative is available). Instrumental MusicStudents in grades four through eight may choose to receive instrument instruction by the SALSA music director. Lessons are given here once a week. The fee ($45.00) is determined on a yearly basis and paid to the school office. There is a group band rehearsal once a week for all the SALSA schools at Lutheran High.
