Classroom Highlights

Religion
The class is continuing their study of the rebellion of Israel and God’s continued grace and forgiveness toward them.

Health
Students are finishing their unit on blood and cardiovascular health and wellness.

Science
Using our knowledge of heredity, we were able to build our own creatures using genotypes and phenotypes.  It was a very fun lab, where we got to eat the left over marshmallows and dots.

Language Arts
Students have had the opportunity to work in a writing workshop for the past 2 weeks.  We stepped through writing process while producing some short stories.

Math
This class has been working hard on all or our Math concepts:  adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and basic algebra steps.

Spanish
Students are learning about weather and reviewing seasons and months of the year.

Art
We are completing winter scenes using thicker acrylic paints.  Please walk down the school hallways and look at all of these “Winter Wonderland” creations.

Music
A huge "Thank You" goes out to everyone who helped make the Christmas Program a success!!  We look forward now to spring and the Music Fest in March.  The 5-8th grade choir will be going to music fest and singing a song or two as a group.  Students are also encouraged to sing solos, duets, trios, or perform with their musical instruments!

Geography
Students will be beginning Latin America in the next couple of days.  The class will soon be given a US map for them to identify the states, and their capitals.
