Classroom Highlights

It has been a busy month in Kindergarten.  We had a very fun farm unit at the start of the month!  We learned about how a farm works, the animals on a farm, different kinds of farms, and important jobs that take place each day by a farmer.  In order to make our farm unit more hands on we took a trip to “The Family Farm” in Grafton, WI.  This field trip was all hands on for the students.  We got to pet a rooster named Brooster, take a hay ride, play in the hay romp, and see all the baby animals!  It was very exciting to feed the sheep and goats too! 

Currently the students are preparing for our final events of the school year!  We are having a “Muffins with Mom” event, Grandparent’s Day, and a “Donuts with Dad” event.  The kids have been busy working on projects and gifts for these special occasions! 

It’s hard to believe that the year is coming to an end, but we’ll continue to be hard at work down to the last couple of days.

Spanish
The whole school got together for a Cinco de Mayo fiesta!  We had walking tacos for lunch and played Loteria! (Spanish bingo).  We also did the “Mexican Hat Dance”, had a piñata (thanks Mrs. Stelter), and ran a Mexican hat relay race.  It was so much fun for all of us to get together to share in this event. Students are concentrating on affirmative and negative words and using adjectives as nouns. We will finish out the year learning vocabulary for places to go.
