Parent Teacher League (PTL)PTL meets at various times throughout the school year. Meetings and special family activities are advertised in the newsletter, calendar and PTL fliers. PTL also is the primary force behind our fundraisers, especially our March Basketball Tournament. Family involvement and support is greatly needed within our PTL, in order for this organization to continue to be able to provide much needed resources for Immanuel School. PTL FundsThe PTL at Immanuel contributes approximately $6,000 a year to the school. This money is used to offset the costs of field trips, athletic uniforms, equipment, awards, and school fees. It is also used to pay for school events such as the Brat Fry/Open House, the Fall family event, Grandparents Day, Winterim, and the end of the year picnic; to name a few. The PTL has four fundraising opportunities each year. We do a Fall fundraiser in which we sell cookie dough and Kringles, concessions at the Dartball tournament in February, a small school Basketball tournament in March, and a Spring fundraiser. All the proceeds from these fundraisers go back into the school. Become a PTL Board MemberOur PTL helps raise much-needed funds for our students and helps “connect families to Christ and each other” by hosting various events all year long. Research shows that children whose parents are involved in school get better grades, do better on tests, and have fewer discipline problems. If you would like to become more involved and make a tremendous difference, please consider becoming a PTL Executive Board member. Contact Principal Wallner at (920) 452-9681 for open positions. Becoming a member of the executive board will now count and be eligible for your volunteer hours. Please consider, and get involved—we would love it! What is SCRIP?Scrip is a program which allows you to buy gift certificates to many different stores. The businesses return a certain percent of the purchase price back to our school, so without spending one extra cent you can help earn extra dollars for our school! In addition, Immanuel now lets you choose a recipient for half of the profit. So you and your relatives/friends can provide a school credit or childcare credit at Immanuel for yourselves or another school family. You may also choose to have the money put into the scholarship fund (which helps less fortunate families) or our PTL (which benefits our school, teachers, and families in countless ways!). How does it work? The store gift card/certificate is equivalent to cash. When you make a purchase at that particular store you may simply hand the card/certificate to the store clerk. If the purchase amount is less than the amount on your gift card they will generally return the card/certificate to you with the new balance which you can spend at a later date. Occasionally, they will give you cash/change back. Gift cards may expire 1 year after activation, so please use your gift card within 6 months to be on the safe side. Some retailers allow you to pay-off accounts with the gift cards (please check with retailer as this varies). How can I buy scrip? The scrip available for immediate purchase is listed on the Purchase Form. However, supplies are limited and occasionally we may “sell out”. There is also a wide variety of scrip available by order. You may obtain a complete list at the school office. Orders are generally placed Friday afternoons and typically arrive by the following Thursday. Scrip may be purchased/ordered after all church services by the handicap entrance as well as in the school office. The Sheboygan Press also participates in scrip. Just give us your bill with a check made out to Immanuel PTL and we’ll do the rest! Don’t forget the other easy ways to support our school:
Box Tops Challenge ResultsThank you to everyone for collecting all of your box tops, soup labels, milk caps, water labels and McDonalds receipts! We will celebrate in January after we return from Christmas break. Look for more information in following newsletters. Our totals are as follows: Box Tops - 1,210 A huge thanks goes out to the PTL and all of the parent volunteers for all their hard work these past few weeks. A lot of time and effort goes into planning the many events (Dartball Tournament, Basketball Tournament, Grandparents Day) just to name a few. All of the events have gone very well, the Basketball Tournament was a real success. Your efforts are very much appreciated by all, especially the Immanuel Staff!
