I currently teach 7th and 8th grade language arts and religion, Spanish for grades 3-8, and computers for grades 1-2. This is my first year back at Immanuel after staying home with my children for the last 3 years. I have been married since 1997 to my husband Randy. Both he and his mom are Immanuel alumni! We have two wonderful children—Connor is 7 and Morgan is 4.

I graduated from Concordia University—Wisconsin in 1992 with a degree in elementary education (Grades 1-8) and a minor in early childhood (Pre-K and K). I have taught at all grade levels, and I love the rewards and challenges of students at every age. I taught 4K, 5K, and first grade at St. Mary’s in Port Washington. When I first came to Immanuel, I taught Grades 1 and 2 for two years. After the birth of our first child, I taught part time at Immanuel for three years in Grades 7 and 8 and also was a resource teacher and substitute when needed.

I am an avid scrap booker, I like word puzzles and board games, and also like to read when I get the chance. Maybe I will read a grown up book again one day soon! Did I mention that correcting papers is my favorite hobby? I am proud of the dedication of the faculty and staff of Immanuel. They really go above and beyond the call of duty to make learning meaningful, rewarding, and fun for the students. It is evident that the love of Jesus is in the hearts of all of the teachers here at Immanuel! (top)

Andrea Dorner
I am the new fifth and sixth grade teacher this year, and looking forward to it! I have wanted to be a teacher for a long time, and it is great to be working in such a wonderful school. This is my first year of teaching; I graduated from Concordia University in December 2007. Until receiving the Call to teach at Immanuel I was a nanny in Mequon, and got married in May to my husband, Nate. We live in Port Washington, as he is still attending school at Concordia.

My father is a pastor in a small town in central Wisconsin, where I grew up with my three sisters. I attended public primary and high schools, and it was a blessing to attend a college where spiritual well-being is a natural part of the curriculum. I enjoy integrating faith into my lessons and talking about faith with my students - it is fun to watch them observe and appreciate God's imprint on the world.

In my spare time I like to go down to the beach in Port Washington, ride bike, read, paint, and experiment in the kitchen. I am greatly anticipating this time at Immanuel - it has been an exciting year so far and I cannot wait to see what God has planned for us next! (top)

Amy Fredericks
I am the Director of Early Childhood Ministries at Immanuel Lutheran Church, School and Child Care. I graduated in May of 1995 from Concordia University, Wisconsin. I received my B.A. in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I received my first Call to teacher 3k, 4k and Kindergarten at Beautiful Savior Lutheran School in Waukesha, Wisconsin. I continued my education while at Beautiful Savior. In December of 2000, I received my M.S. in Early Childhood Education from Concordia Wisconsin. I accepted the Call to Immanuel in July of 2003.

During the summer of 2003, I worked on the policies and the physical structure for the childcare center. The center opened in August of 2003. We have grown tremendously since this time. We opened with just a handful of children. The center is now state licensed and filled to capacity. The Lord has truly blessed Immanuel. The childcare center is a precious treasure.

I was born and raised in Sheboygan. I live in Sheboygan with my husband, Travis. We have three daughters, Ellie, Lexi and Gabi. Our three children are all under the age of 4. Life is always fun and exciting! (top)

Elaine Hetman
I have been the school secretary here at Immanuel since August 2001.  I really enjoy working in a school setting.  There is very seldom a dull moment, every day is just a little different, the kids are great, the staff is like my other family and I really like having some free time over the summer.

I have been working in the clerical/secretarial field off and on since I was 20.  A few years ago I began taking classes at LTC to bring myself up to speed with today’s office needs.  I am also planning on taking a UW Sheboygan online course in accounting.

I took several years off from working after the birth of my first son Daniel.  My other two sons, Aaron and Matthew, soon followed and I continued to be a stay at home Mom until Matthew was in the sixth grade. Aaron and Matthew are both Immanuel alumni.

My husband Dave is a photogrammetric pilot for Aero-Metric Engineering.  Because of his field of work we have moved about a bit.  We met and were married in Daytona Beach, Florida, my hometown and began our family there.  We left Florida in 1989 and have since then lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio (Dave’s hometown), Lake St. Louis, Missouri and in 1994 we moved here.  It has been quite an adjustment for this southern girl, to get used to the winters here.

My three sons are all grown now and Dave and I will celebrate 30 happy years together in August 2008. (top)

Jana Rosenstein
As a lifelong resident of Sheboygan, I graduated from Sheboygan Christian Grade School and Sheboygan County Christian High School. After continuing my education at Lakeland College, I earned a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education.  Gaining valuable experience working at a childcare center for six years assisted the transition to my teaching career at Immanuel. I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed working with First and Second grade students ever since!

While my heart is devoted to these young minds, I also have the privilege to use my knowledge and experience in volleyball to coach Immanuel’s Warrior Volleyball Team.  Teaching fundamentals and teamwork, while building self-esteem and confidence in our youth continues to be a gratifying experience.

Scrap booking memories my husband Eric and I built in the last five years we have been married, continues to keep me busy in my free time. Eric and I enjoy spending time in the outdoors, fishing, boating, camping, hiking and traveling.   Not to mention the other times when we enjoy spoiling our wonderful nieces and nephews! Spending time with family and giving time to children is a fulfilling and rewarding part of my life. (top)

Ellen Stelter
Teaching in a Lutheran Day School has been a goal of mine since my high school days.  I graduated from Concordia College, Milwaukee and earned my Elementary Grades Teaching Degree at Concordia in River Forest.  Almost my entire teaching career of twenty-five years has been spent serving the Lord’s children at Immanuel Lutheran School.  My understanding husband, David, my children Cody and Tracy, son-in-law, Jon, all know that for 180 days each year my students come first.

It is a joy to provide a school year filled with Bible study, a current curriculum, specials projects, field trips, and fun experiences.  Our smaller class size affords each precious child of God the loving, forgiving, safe and nurturing family atmosphere needed in our world today. (top)

Allison Toerpe
I am new to the staff at Immanuel this year and I am energetically looking forward to teaching in the 4K/5K classroom.  This will be the start of my second year of teaching since graduating from Concordia University Wisconsin in May of 2007.  During my time at CUW, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in mathematics.  After graduating, I taught a year of Second grade at Divine Redeemer in Hartland, Wisconsin.  My husband Brad and I made the move to Sheboygan in order to be closer to our family.

I grew up in Saginaw, Michigan where I was blessed with the opportunity to attend both a Lutheran Day School and a Lutheran High School.  It was through my experiences at both schools that my desire to teach truly began.  I love children and enjoy working with them, watching them grow and learn, as they become servants of the Lord.

Aside from my love of teaching I enjoy spending time with my family.  In my free time, I love traveling the country, reading books, walking, baking, and playing board games. (top)

Beth Williams
I’m the custodian and have been on the job cleaning part-time for the past 3 school years. I started cleaning at the same time my oldest son started school. Orion is now in 1st grade, following close behind him is Nathan who is now in pre k-4. Koda, the baby of the family who is too young to actually go to school, is an honorary student at Immanuel.

Before working at Immanuel I was working part-time at another cleaning company, while raising the boys. And before that I was a lead-person construction worker for a local siding company, which is where I met my husband Mark. We have been married for 8 years.

Most of my time is spent playing with my family. We like the outdoors and we go camping at least once a year during summer. As the boys get older I will start biking again and we’ll go on biking trips across the states again.

If I ever have enough spare time, I would like to get back to the art that I’ve put on hold, along with starting new ones. It’s been fun to use some creativity around the school to help make it look better. Thanks to the staff and parents that contribute their time and energy to Immanuel, as well. All that you have done has been appreciated. (top)

Upon graduating from Concordia University Mequon, I accepted a Call to teach 5th grade at St. Paul Lutheran School in Chicago, Illinois.   After being away from family for 6 years we knew our home was in Sheboygan with wonderful family and friends.  We are very thankful the Lord led us back to our home town. I began my career at Immanuel as the 7th and 8th grade teacher and Assistant Principal in 2004.  In 2006, I was called to the Principal position and have thoroughly enjoyed this leadership role.

My husband Matthew and I were married in 1999 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls.  We look forward to celebrating our 10 year anniversary this February. Matt and I are proud parents of two Boston Terriers, Bailey and Harley.   We welcomed the newest edition to our family this summer, a five year old cat named Chewie.

In our spare time, my husband and I enjoy working in the yard, taking a ride on our motorcycles, playing with the dogs, camping, fishing, boating, and almost any outdoor activity.

My greatest joy is to be a part in molding a child’s Christian Character and watching them go out into the world becoming God’s disciples. (top)
